ARTSCOOL is a creative, child-centred art studio offering dynamic classes for kids and teens aged 5–17. We provide after-school, weekend, and holiday workshops designed to build skills, confidence, and self-expression through art.
We’re not about cookie-cutter craft or strict art lessons. Our classes balance structured learning with exploration. Children have the freedom to choose their own creative path while being guided by professional artists and teachers. Many of our students are neurodiverse, and our programs are designed to be inclusive and supportive.
Because neurodivergence is at the heart of ARTSCOOL’s story.
ARTSCOOL was founded by Megan, who is herself neurodivergent — living with ADHD and a later-in-life diagnosis of high-functioning autism (ASD). Growing up, she often felt the world wasn’t built for her way of thinking or learning. Art became both a refuge and a way to process the world. When she eventually built ARTSCOOL, it was with a clear intention: to create the kind of space she needed as a child — a place where creativity, difference, and individuality are not only accepted but celebrated.
This vision has shaped every part of ARTSCOOL’s approach. The studio was designed with neurodivergent learning styles in mind — blending structure with flexibility, offering multiple entry points into activities, and creating discovery-based stations that allow children to move between projects at their own pace. Some students immerse themselves deeply in one artwork, while others explore a variety of tasks in a single class. Both are equally valued.
At the centre of it all is regulation. Regulation is modelled by Megan in every class, and there is a shared language around it. Children are free to notice, name, and practise regulation strategies while they create. The studio provides sensory tools and toys, as well as dedicated sensory-friendly spaces where students can take a pause, breathe, or reset. Kids don’t have to sit still — they can jump up and down, run around, or take a break when needed, and everyone in the room understands that this is part of learning, not a disruption.
Over time, ARTSCOOL has become a safe haven for many families with neurodivergent children. Parents often share that it’s the first place their child has felt truly understood and supported. That’s because the studio doesn’t just teach art; it builds confidence, agency, and a sense of belonging.
Our neurodiversity story isn’t an add-on — it’s a foundation. ARTSCOOL exists because of it.
From Term 4, 2025, ARTSCOOL runs on an All-Access Pass model. Families pay one flat term fee, and kids can attend as many classes as they want (within their age group). It’s flexible, affordable, and maximises value.
Yes! While our All Access Pass offers unlimited access to all classes on the timetable for one term fee, we also understand that some families prefer a more structured option. That’s why we offer single class enrolments.
With this option, your child will attend the same class each week (e.g. Van Goghs, Sketchy Lab, Sculpture & Clay Yay, or Arty Sparks). It’s perfect for kids who thrive on routine, want to focus on one style or medium, or simply prefer a consistent weekly schedule.
Both options—All Access Pass and single class enrolments—are designed to make creativity accessible and enjoyable, so families can choose what works best for their child.
How do I enrol my child?
Enrolment for the term is completed through our enrolment link here.
Once enrolled, you’ll need to book your child week-to-week into every class they wish to attend. A booking link to our weekly scheduling system will be sent to you one week before classes start.
Do you offer trial classes?
No, we don’t offer trials (it’s logistically difficult to manage with limited spaces). However, we have a refund guarantee: If your child attends their first week and isn’t happy, we’ll refund your fee in full. (It never happens!)
What does it cost?
All Access Pass - BEST VALUE
Single Class Enrolments – For families who prefer a consistent weekly routine:
Do you offer sibling discounts?
No sibling discounts are offered under the All-Access Pass, but the structure is already designed to maximise value for families.
What payment options are available?
All payments are processed online through our enrolment system. You must pre-pay upfront, per term, to secure your spot. Arterpay PayPal and other BNPL options are available at checkout.
Can ARTSCOOL classes be claimed through the NDIS?
Yes. ARTSCOOL generally falls under the “Social & Community Participation” category. For children, classes can often be claimed under Core or Capacity Building, depending on their plan.
Do you bill plan managers or self-managed participants directly?
From September 2025, we will no longer bill plan managers or self-managed participants directly for new students.
Instead, families pay through our enrolment system like everyone else. After payment, we can provide an invoice suitable for NDIS claiming, and you can request reimbursement from the NDIS.
Can you provide an invoice?
Yes. Once you’ve paid, we’ll send you an invoice formatted for NDIS submission.
What if my child can’t make a class?
What if my child doesn’t like it?
We offer a first-week refund guarantee. If your child attends their first week and genuinely doesn’t enjoy the class, we’ll refund your term fees in full.
Do you refund for holidays?
We’re unable to refund for absences.
Do holiday workshops require a separate enrolment?
Yes. Holiday programs are separately priced and must be booked in advance. They are open to both current students and new families.
What age groups are holiday workshops for?
Generally 6–15 years, but check each program description for details.
Do holiday workshops fill up fast?
Yes! We recommend booking early to avoid missing out.
Where are you located?
ARTSCOOL is at Shops 5 & 6, 126 Sutton Street, Redcliffe, QLD.
We are behind Gateway Realty and vry close to the Kidney Support Network Op shop.
Is there parking?
Yes, free street parking is available.
What should my child bring?
All art supplies are provided.
Do parents stay during class?
Generally, no. Parents drop off and pick up children. Exceptions may be made for younger or anxious children in their first week. However, you can see and hear everything from the courtyard outside of ARTSCOOL. The studio has a glass frontage and the doors are generally kept open.
Do you provide aprons?
Yes, but we recommend sending kids in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty.
What is your student-to-teacher ratio?
We keep ratios low to ensure safety and individual attention, typically 1:10–15 students, sometimes supported by assistants.
Are your educators qualified?
Yes. Our team includes professional practising, university-educated artists who also hold experience and training as educators, all of whom have Blue Cards (Working With Children clearance).
Do you cater for children with allergies or medical needs?
Yes, but please notify us in advance. We are a nut-aware studio, but we cannot guarantee an allergen-free environment.
Can my child bring a friend?
Yes, but they must be enrolled in advance via our booking system - email us (no drop-ins). We allow one friend to accompany any student for one class during a term.
Do you run adult classes?
Yes! Our sister brand, FLUXUS, offers boutique silversmithing and jewellery-making workshops for adults. Launching in Sep 2025 - Stay tuned!
Do you run programs in schools or kindergartens?
